Dr. John Bruchalski:
My Conversion From Abortionist to Pro-Life Doctor
Dr. John Bruchalski completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical Center and the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia in 1991. He received board certification in 1993.
Motivated by a desire to become the best possible physician, Dr. Bruchalski performed abortions during his residency. Gradually, he realized that abortion actually harmed women. After a spiritual awakening, he returned to the Catholic faith of his youth and felt God’s call to start a medical practice that truly helped women. In 1994, Dr. Bruchalski founded Tepeyac in Fairfax, VA, offering, in addition to excellent medicine, a faith-based welcome to women regardless of belief, background, or financial situation. In 2000, he founded Divine Mercy Care, a non-profit organization, to assist Tepeyac and other similar life-affirming medical practices. Divine Mercy Care’s additional missions involve educating medical students in, and broadening community awareness of, pro-life medicine.
He speaks passionately to a wide variety of audiences on such topics as ethics and conscience, bioethics and fertility, the pregnancy help movement, fertility awareness family planning, religious freedom in the medical world, and his own faith testimony.
